In 2008, she received her MFA in Directing from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television where she directed “MGM: My Visits with My Grandmother Marta,” the workshop production of “In the Company of Jane Doe,” and an original musical version of Aristophanes’ “Lysistrata,”  As a faculty member, Mary Jo directed “Big Love” for the UCLA Graduate Program in Acting and “Who is Selma Teller?” for UCLA’s New Playwright’s Festival.  She restaged a reading of “In the Company of Jane Doe” for The Blank Theater’s Living Room Series, then remounted a full production of “Jane Doe” for the Los Angeles Theater Ensemble. She also directed the world premier of “Arroz Con Pollo” by Edward Hernandez at The Complex and The “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” at UCLA.  Among her numerous acting credits, favorite musical roles include Meg Brokie in “Brigadoon,” and Winnifred in PCPA’s “Once Upon a Mattress.”  She has appeared in ads for “Got Milk,” the Superbowl, and for Jim Rome’s show on Fox Sports, a spot directed by Christopher Guest.  Other roles include Sandra on Lifetime’s “Strong Medicine,” Delilah in Dave DeVoss’s “The Theory of Everything” on TBN Television. She also plays Frannie in the Award Winning independent feature, “Nothing Special,” and is currently in pre-production for Thom Cammer’s “The Naughty List.”  Mary Jo is a cum laude graduate of Vassar College, and a recipient of the NYU Professional Certification in Filmmaking.

Letia Clouston is a native of Paducah, KY. She became involved in theatre at an early age, both as an actor and an assistant director, and went on to receive a BFA in Theatre at Stephens College in Columbia, MO. Upon receiving intense classical training at the British American Dramatic Academy at Oxford University, Letia moved to Los Angeles to work on numerous movie and television productions, most notably a 4-year stint on THE WEST WING. Letia’s first feature, IN THE DARK, won “Best Low Budget Feature” at WorldFest Houston International Film Festival and is distributed by Vanguard Cinema.   Letia received her MFA in Directing at the American Film Institute, where she directed several short films and her award-winning thesis film, AB NEGATIVE. Letia’s PSA, EVERY 15 MINUTES, won three Telly Awards and was chosen by the LAPD as a teaching tool for LA high schools. She is currently directing a web series, BROKEN TOY, created by her production company, Forewarned Films, and her second feature, 3 TIMES A CHARM, is now distributed by Marvista Entertainment.

Shanee Edwards (Screenwriting Workshop) began pursuing her dream of being an actress at the age of seven. Performing on both the stage and screen, she received the “Best Actress” award at HBO’s Aspen Comedy Arts Festival for the film Dead Silence, in which she played the lead opposite Danny Aiello.  But as passionate as she was about acting, Shanee yearned to create her own characters and give them exciting, meaningful stories to tell, prompting her to obtain an M.F.A. in screenwriting from UCLA Film School.  While at UCLA, she received the Samuel Goldwyn Excellence in Screenwriting Award, the Women in Film Award and the Alfred P. Sloan Award all for her screenplay Enchantress of Numbers based on the life of the world’s first computer programmer, Ada Lovelace.  Currently, Shanee is the film critic for the online magazine SheKnows.com and produces/hosts the web series She Blinded Me w Science to encourage young girls to explore science and technology.

Shanee’s ultimate goal is to write stories for film about strong, spirited women whose passion, humor and courage inspire us.
